Sarah Eva is a resourceful problem-solver and digital strategist who comes from a family of teachers.

An award-winning professional communicator with experience in both the agency and in-house worlds, Sarah Eva has designed strategies, created campaigns, and grown global audiences for organizations like the Obama Foundation, Harvard University, the MacArthur Foundation, and a number of Chicago-based SaaS tech companies. Her highly collaborative and entrepreneurial ethos have led to success in both start-up environments and in large, complex organizations.

When she’s not in front of a screen, you can find her teaching, taking walks along Lake Michigan with her husband and rescue dog, thrifting with her stepdaughter, or taking road trips with her son.

I led the strategic rollout and hands-on configuration of HubSpot’s deep feature set for their sales and marketing teams, including tailored automations and analytics dashboards.

ThinkCERCA, 2015
ThinkCERCA is an ed tech start-up that empowers teachers to personalize literacy instruction. I managed creative talent and external vendors and brought cohesion to visual brand expressions.

MacArthur Foundation, 2012–2013
At the MacArthur Foundation, I complemented the organization’s internal digital talent. I managed software evaluation and development projects, created behavioral audience profiles using Google Analytics, and made content recommendations based on readership metrics.

As the creative director and operations lead, I allocated the firm’s resources to maximize efficiency and protect our profit margins while ensuring high-quality client deliverables. We’re an agile shop and I functioned as either the product owner or scrum master, depending on the project.

At M.Stoner, a higher-ed marketing agency, I led the creative and UX practice, managed client-facing creative strategy and the creation of beautifully usable digital interfaces and print materials for global education brands. As M.Stoner’s user experience lead, I oversaw projects from strategy, through testing, design, and then HTML or delivery for print.

My projects regularly finished under budget and two of our products were nominated for the first Webbys in the firm’s history.

I helped build digital advertising strategies for the most effective, creative, and innovative digital campaign in the history of politics. In the start-up atmosphere of our Chicago headquarters, I managed three senior designers in the conceptualization, development and design of all of list-building and persuasion ad units, including multiple rounds of testing and data-driven optimizations.

Working closely with our advertising analysts, I interpreted and summarized creative performance reports using Tableau. Based on data insights and careful examination of KPIs, I assigned optimizations and made recommendations for future approaches to improve persuasion messaging performance. I also identified and communicated relevant insights to other departments, including campaign leadership.
